William J McMahon Jr., aged 86 years, lifelong resident of Middleboro,
died on Wed. June 22, 2011, at

, Middleboro. He was the husband of the late Joan E (Boudrot) McMahon, who
predeceased him on September 24, 1983. Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the
late William J and Lauretta M (Benjamin) McMahon. He was a graduate of
Middleboro
High School
, class of 1943, and a graduate of
Boston
College
, class of 1950. He served in the United States Navy, during WWII, in the
Aleutian Islands
. He was a retired permit engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Department of Public Works, where he worked for many years. He was communicant
of
Sacred
Heart
Church
, Middleboro. He was past commander and life member of the American Legion Post
#64, Middleboro, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2188,
Middleboro, and the Middleboro Lodge of Elks #1274. He vacationed regularly in
West Palm Beach
,
FL
, and enjoyed dancing and music. Survivors include a son; Lawrence W and his
wife Pamela McMahon of
Reading
, two daughters; Nancy J and her husband Cliff Chausse of Lakeville, Linda A and
her husband Doug Mann of
Freetown
, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on
Fri. June 24th in the Ashley Funeral Home,
35 Oak St.
Middleboro, from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. June
25th at 10 am in
Sacred
Heart
Church
,
340 Centre St
Middleboro. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Middleboro.
