OBITUARY: (BROCKTON):
John Richard Sedgley, aged 82 years, of Berkley, formerly of Third Avenue, Lakeville, and Wollaston Section, Quincy, died on Monday, February 19, 2007, at Braemoor Manor, Brockton, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Caroline A. (Albrecht) Sedgley, who died January 10, 1987. Born in Boston, he had lived in the Wollaston Section of Quincy until 1958, when he moved to Lakeville. He served in the United States Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Colorado, and received the Purple Heart. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Myricks United Methodist Church, the May Flower Lodge A.F. & A.M., the Palestine Temple Shrine and its Motor Corps. of Cranston RI, and the Rhode Island Consistory Providence RI. He is survived by his daughter; Donna M. and her husband Joseph Russo of Berkley, two grand-daughters; Catherine Russo of Attleboro and Carrie Lowell of Stratham, NH, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held in the Egger Funeral Home, 61 Pearl St. Middleboro, on Friday at 10 a.m.. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, visiting hours will be held Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m..
