OBITUARY: ( DANVERS )

            John Desmond Mosley Sr., aged 77 years, of Middleboro, died on June 17, 2007, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers , MA , after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge , MA , on August 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Bridgette (Toal) Mosley. He was the former husband of Mary L. (Robinson) Mosley; they had been married for 47 years. He was a union carpenter by trade and belonged to The Local #40 Teamsters and had been a carpenter for 50 years. He also drove truck for several years, and enjoyed farming. He was a life-long resident of Middleboro, and a member of Sacred Heart Church , Middleboro. He was also a United States Veteran, serving in the Army Air Force, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Middleboro. He was a past president of the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). Survivors include three sons; John D. Mosley Jr. of Brockton, Robert F. and his wife Colleen Mosley of Middleboro, and Thomas J. and his wife Susan Mosley of North Attleboro, seven daughters; Carrie and her husband James Braga of Middleboro, Patricia and her husband Vincent Costello of Lynnfield, Ellen Leonard and her partner Russell April, both of Middleboro, Mary L. and her husband John Harper of Marblehead, Sheila and her husband Chris Poudrier of Lakeville, Maureen Mosley of W. Bridgewater, Barbara and her husband James Evans of North Bennington, VT, one brother; George Mosley of Middleboro, grandfather of Keith, James, Jonathan, Randy, Deirdre, Mary-Kate, Michael, Hannah, Katherine, Thomas, Chris, Bob, Bridgette, James, Isabelle, and Danny,  great-grandfather of Zach and Cody, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the father of the late, Danny G. and Michael T. Mosley. He was the brother of the late Thomas J. Mosley, Mary Bolia and Kathleen Rose Mosley. Funeral services to be held from the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, on Thurs. June 21, 2007, at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St. Middleboro, at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wed. 4-8 pm.
