OBITUARY: ( WAREHAM )

            Elmer Stinson “Tug” Lufkin , aged 86 years, of Middleboro, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the Forestview Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dorothy T. (Marsden) Lufkin , of Middleboro, they had been married for more than 45 years. Born in Corea , ME , he was the son of the late Woodbury and Lettie (Stinson) Lufkin . He served as a Merchant Marine and The United States Coast Guard, during WWII. His duties included, trips out of Brookline , NY to England , bringing back the wounded, from various branches of the service. He will be remembered as a lifelong fisherman, out of New Bedford , for more than 25 years. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and participating in activities at the COA in Middleboro. He is survived by four sons; Lawrence and his wife Roselyn Lufkin of Glenndale, AZ, John and his wife Kathleen Lufkin of Salisbury, NC, Mark and his wife Teresa Lufkin, Bruce Lufkin, all of Middleboro, one daughter; Justine and her husband Fernando Olivera, of Middleboro, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Patricia Lufkin. Brother of the late Lawrence Lufkin, Harriet White, and Ruth Johnson. Funeral services to be held, Thursday, at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, at 10 a.m., followed by the burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11:30. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Allegiance Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of Mass., 1420 Providence Highway, Suite 277 , Norwood , MA 02062 , would be appreciated.
