OBITUARY: ( BRIGHTON )

            Joseph D. Gilmore, aged 62 years, of Middleboro, formerly of Hingham , died on Mon. May 28, 2007, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Brighton , after a brief illness. He was the husband of Janice A. (Carpenter) Gilmore. Born in Salem , he was son of the late Joseph D. and Margarite (Sweeney) Gilmore. He was a 1963 graduate of Hingham High School , and attended Northeastern University . He was a self employed computer programming consultant. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam . He was a life member of the Reardon Chapter #57 D.A.V. He was past president of the Randolph Jaycees. He was a coach for the Middleboro girls softball team. He had collected sports cards, coins, and movies. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and the beach. Survivors include his wife, three daughters; Lauren K. Gilmore of Bridgewater , Missy M. Gilmore, and Stephanie A. Gilmore, both of Middleboro, four brothers; Michael Gilmore of Rockland, Peter Gilmore of Puerto Rico, Thomas Gilmore of Maryland, Kevin Gilmore of Weymouth, three sisters; Carole Pierce of Middleboro, Susan Cullinan, and Heather Downs, both of Weymouth, two grandchildren; Danielle Jefferson, Makena Medeiros, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, on Fri. at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
